There are always presales going on in January at various online retailers. The ones I will be looking at this year are Crockett Fantasy of Lights, DIY Led Express and HolidayCoro. The main thing I would like to purchase this year is some P10 panels to do a tune to sign (as I hope to broadcast an FM station all next year as my testing worked good this year).
I am able to avoid purchasing pixels this year because I got a few deals at the end of December/early January. First, DIY Led Express had a clearance sale where I picked up a few strings for a decent price. And secondly, I again was able to buy some of Holiday Coro’s Stuff Boxes (this year I got #1 and #3 – all 12v pixels). These are a good deal if one is willing to test every string and in some cases severely cut it up to make it work. For instance, I had one string this year that every 4th pixel was dead for the first half of the string. I ended up cutting out 10 bad pixels and putting it back together again. Here’s a rundown as to what I got from this catch, I have also included what I have left of pixel strips from last year’s stuff box 3 after I cut out dead pixels and cut several up to use in projects:
